Hermen Hesse & Socrates Quotes

by Kurt on February 22, 2009

“I wanted only to try to live in accord with the promptings which came from my true self.  Why was that so very difficult?” -Hermann Hesse

This is such a great question.  Seems the human condition is one of duplicity, or perhaps paradox.

Why do we seem to find yourself repeating the same devious habits over and over again?

How come some people seem to be able to ‘fail forward’ and spiral upward, while the majority seem to get stuck in the mud and spin wheels, only to find themselves on their deathbed with regrets and enlightenment a bit too late??
This gets me thinking…when I die I want to be used up, done, finished, nothing left to give.

“Let him who would move the world, first move himself. -Socrates

Here’s to moving myself first and honoring the promptings from my inner self.

C’mon
